LET THE PEOPLE VOTE
Ever since the Citizens’ United ruling came down, dirty money started to pour into politics to affect elections. One of the things that this dirty money is used for is to make it harder and harder for some American Citizens to vote by creating unnecessary voter ID laws and closing voting poll stations early in some neighborhoods, while keeping voting poll stations in other neighborhoods open later- ALL BEING DONE TO LIMIT OUR ACCESS TO VOTE.
To allow for every American citizen a fair and due process to vote, we need to make Federal Election Day a National Holiday so that again, ALL PEOPLE have a TRULY FAIR and EQUAL ACCESS TO VOTE.
How many people have to keep getting turned away at voting poll stations because they were already closed?
How many people have to keep worrying that they might make their office superiors question their loyalty when all they want to do is take the time out to vote?
How many of people have to pick their kids up from school, and between rush hour, kids’ schoolwork, and preparing dinner, they just don’t have time to vote?
We live in a democratically elected republic, and we have the right to vote. In fact, the GOVERNMENT HAS A DUTY to make it as easy as possible for people to vote. A successful democracy demands that the people fully participate in voting for those individuals who are ultimately elected to govern to be truly representative of the people who vote.
If there is no standardized national system that gives American citizens an equal chance to vote, some voting districts will end up treating voters disproportionately unequally, thereby not having true representation in Federal Government.
DO NOT LET THEM LIMIT YOUR VOTE, OR YOUR SPEECH! BE VOCAL!
Sign this petition to make Federal Election Day a National Holiday so that we can all go to the polls this November!
Your VOICE and VOTE voice and vote are worth more than anything else as a citizen. We have the power to convince our government to create a national holiday so that everyone has an EQUAL and FAIR opportunity to vote. It’s the only way we have a chance to have a government that is truly representative of the people.

Why is this important?
I keep hearing stories from friends across the country about how difficult it has become to vote for our elected officials. What if voting was made so easy that we had a national holiday so that we can all go to the polls to vote in November? What if you brought your kids with you to the voting polls and there were games for them geared to learning about our political system? Let's pass this onward as part of our duty as Citizens!
