Let them Filibuster
President Obama's jobs bill would create thousands of jobs by rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure. Republicans have blocked the bill by threatening to filibuster. Their reason is because people who make $1 million or more a year would have to pay a tax increase of 0.7%. Their motivation is only to let their rich constituents pocket even more money while everyone else is struggling, and to hurt President Obama's change of re-election. I say that they have to put their money where their mouth is.
A filibuster is an unending debate. When Senators do filibuster, they often resort to reading the funny pages and pointless acts because THERE'S NOTHING MORE TO DEBATE. There's no way to justify holding up this bill that could put thousands of Americans back to work.
Everyone remembers when Strom Thurmond filibustered for 24 hours. What no one remembers is that when he was done, the Civil Rights bill was passed, and we're ALL better off for it.

Why is this important?
Newspapers tell you that the Republicans have "filibustered" President Obama's jobs bill. This is not true. They've THREATENED to filibuster, which is how they have blocked countless progressive measures. I say, LET THEM FILIBUSTER!
