LGBT equal opportunity in Virginia !
There are a few bills introduced to the house recently that have direct impact upon the lives and well-being of Virginia's marginalized LGBT citizens. We call for the immediate dismissal of house bills HB1409 and HB1414, that would attempt to enshrine discrimination in our fair state. We also call for timely passage of house bills HB1454, HB1498, and HB1643; that would grant a level of protection under the states fair housing and public employment acts.
Why is this important?
It's a proven fact, communities that value diversity and promote equality see an influx of business, outside funding, and enhancement to the overall quality of life for all of its citizens. These are your friends, neighbors, children, co-workers, family; who all need and deserve the ability to work towards achieving the american dream.
