LGBTQ Equal Employment Act

Currently in Arizona, there is no state-wide law against discriminating against or firing someone from the LGBTQ community based simply on their sexual orientation. While many city governments offer these protections, this petition is to set a state-wide law against the discrimination of LGBTQ Arizonans.

Why is this important?

While I have not personally been affected by this issue, many of my closest friends are part of the LGBTQ community. I believe they deserve equal rights under the law, and should not be discriminated against simply because of their sexual orientation. Arizona should catch up to the 21st century and pass common-sense human right legislation so nobody in the LGBTQ community can be discriminated against for one identifying factor.
