Limit Congress Pay
Limit all forms of Congress pay to include cutting salaries, pensions, retirement benefits, lobby and PAC contribution earnings, including those earned by shell companies and by family members' lobby and PAC earnings directly benefitting a member of Congress. Congress pay must be reigned in and cuts must be made.
Why is this important?
Minimum pay for a member of Congress is $174,000 as of 2011. This is an increase of over $30,000 within the past ten years alone! This does not include health benefits, retirement, pension and what they earn from PACs or from shell companies and family members employed by lobbies and PACs. Many members of Congress are millionaires and have seen a growth in personal wealth of about 16% during this recession. It is time to stop the abuse and return to the original intent of "public servant".
