Almost half of America lives at or just above Federal Poverty Limits while corporations reap billions in profits and pay their CEO's and investors millions. No working American should be in poverty. Raise the minimum wage to at least $14 per hour, and limit any company who has employees qualify for food stamps, TANF, Earned Income Credit, or Medicaid to paying their highest paid executive more than ten times the least paid employees. If a company ships jobs overseas they should pay heavy fines and taxes in this country.
Why is this important?
Texas has one of the highest poverty rates in the country. We need to raise the minimum wage to $14 an hour and for small businesses the highest paid employee must not make more than 10 times the least paid employee.
