Ask the Louisiana state legislature to come in line with neighboring states and further reduce penalties for marijuana possession--not to increase penalties.
Why is this important?
Louisiana has the highest incarceration rate in the country. As states move to legalize marijuana, it is time to at least reduce sentencing for non-violent marijuana arrests. Legalization would help reduce inmate populations, and help to raise much needed tax revenues.
