Lower statute of limitations for suing on old debt
Stop coming after us! If we can't get back on our feet, the economy has no hope. Statues of limitation are 4-6 years in most states. By lowering it to 2 or less, those who are finally getting back to work after a long time unemployed and scared would actually stand a chance at a future.
Why is this important?
After a terrifying few years of layoffs and foreclosures, many companies are now coming after those who have owed them money from several years ago. Just as people are getting back on their feet and employed, they are hit with their old debt and knocked back down again. We need to be allowed to get back on our feet. The banks have already gotten their money in the form of federal bailouts. It's time they leave us alone to rebuild our economy.
