Student activism is at an all time high for this country, yet voter turnout is at a low. This can change! By letting our students vote and be directly involved with democracy, it forces their leaders to listen to the youth! By starting voters young it helps cement the habit of being involved in democracy.
Why is this important?
As a student progressive activist, allowing for strong minded students and young people’s voices to be heard and listened to, is an extremely important issue to me. I think that student political activism and engagement is integral to our democracy, and the best way to activate the students is to activate their rights to vote!
