Maintain Separation of Church and State- Get Religious Texts out of Legal Matters

Please remove all religious texts and phrases (such as "So help me, God") from legal matters. By asking notaries, government officials, jurors, seekers of marriage licenses, etc. to swear on the Christian bible, the state shows favoritism toward one religious group. The rights of those following other religions or no religion at all are impeded when asked to swear on a religious text that is not their own or is of no consequence to them. Use of religious texts in regard to legal matters should cease immediately.

Why is this important?

While being sworn in as a Notary in Pennsylvania, I was asked to swear on the Christian bible. Months later, while on a jury, I was asked to do the same thing. The final straw was while I was obtaining a marriage license and was asked again to swear on the Christian bible. Separation of church and state is apparently not honored as these were all legal matters and the state continues to show favoritism towards one religion (or a religion at all). We must ask to have religious texts banned from matters which are legal in nature.
