Make Climate Polluters Clean Up After Themselves

I strongly support the EPA's effort to limit industrial carbon pollution from existing power plants.
Power plants are responsible for 40 percent of the carbon pollution in the United States, our single largest source. Setting the first-ever federal limits on carbon pollution from these power plants is an essential step to address climate change.
Currently we limit how much mercury, arsenic, soot and other air pollution power plants can dump into our air, but there are no federal limits on carbon pollution. Carbon pollution fuels climate change, which triggers more asthma attacks and respiratory disease, worsens air quality, and contributes to more frequent, destructive, costly and deadly extreme weather events.
I urge you to set strong standards that will push every state to do its best to cut carbon pollution. To honor the commitments that President Obama made in his Climate Action Plan, these standards must cut emissions from power plants by at least 35 percent below 2005 levels by 2020.
Why is this important?
The fossil fuel industry is rising up against the strongest limits ever proposed to end the worst climate change polluter: dirty coal plants.
But, the industry doesn’t have the public’s support. We do.
Dirty power plants are the single largest source of carbon pollution that is driving climate change. Right now, these plants are dumping as much carbon as they want into the atmosphere, and we and our children are stuck with the costs. It's time to adopt common sense limits on carbon pollution from power plants.
Tell the EPA you support these limits on carbon pollution and to make them as strong as possible.
The polluters and their allies will be doing everything they can to stop it. So let’s give this everything we can.
