Law enforcement officials equipped with devices known as IMSI-catchers routinely gather private information from thousands of cellular network users. We demand that law enforcement agencies be required to disclose the use of these devices including how, when and where they are used.
Why is this important?
The practice of secretly gathering private information without cause is a violation of the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Law enforcement officials have abused the power that these tools give them, which threatens the very foundation of our freedom. This practice must be stopped immediately.
