Make it illegal to buy Elections
Please join with me in supporting a constitutional amendment (and supporting legislation) that:
1. Makes it a go-to-prison felony for anybody (and that includes officers of corporations and labor unions) to either give ANY money for ANY political purpose related to ANY federal office. (No more concealed bribes.)
2. Makes it a go-to-prison felony for anybody who is in federal office or campaigning for federal office to receive ANY money from ANYBODY for ANY political purpose. (No more begging and the deal-making that accompanies it.)
2. Establishes public funding for all federal political campaigns. (A fair and reasonable amount that candidates can spend as they will.)
3. Allows Congress to limit the length of campaigns. (No more year-long series of attack ads and outright lies about the other side.)
4. Tells broadcasters, cable and satellite providers and anybody else who controls access to the media that they are required to supply a reasonable amount of time, at reasonable times of day, for political campaigns and that they MUST supply the same amount of time and the same times of day to each candidate. (Remember: broadcasters don't own the airwaves; as a nation WE do. Broadcasters just lease time on OUR airwaves, supposedly in the public interest.)

Why is this important?
If we allow people to pay for election results we have lost our ability to be heard. The country becomes a plutocracy instead of a constitutional republic. It then will be legal to bribe politicians and to make it harder for the justice system to protect the citizens.
