Most Republican and some Democratic Senators and Representatives have not held a town meeting in years, and many of those who once did have stopped them in the face of the uproar about Trump's programs. A public meeting with these servants of the people during recesses needs to be required and not at the discretion of the Representative or Senator. Petition Congress to make such meetings a requirements of office.
Why is this important?
Our representative, Luke Messer, refuses to hold public meetings as does Senator Todd Young. In our neighboring Ohio district, Steve Chabot has not held a meeting in over 10 years. This is unconscionable and needs to be addressed and changed.
