Let's get the whole of the country on the same page. No extra retirement benefits or health care for state or U.S. legislators. From now on if they cut health benefits or SS, they are cutting their own benefits as well.
Why is this important?
I would like to see our legislators on the same page as the people they represent especially in the areas of health care and retirement. I signed a petition similar to this one a year or so ago. what happened to it? This is something that all Americans can agree on. It's ridiculous that our legislators in MI get their full salaries for for retirement for serving in the MI house or senate. Legislators would not be so anxious to cut SS or cut health benefits if it effected them personally.
