The technology is out there to make guns safer. Have the President mandate that gun manufacturers utilize "smart gun" technology in the manufacturing of all new hand guns sold in the United States. "Smart Gun" technology includes finger print technology or a computer chip that only allows the gun to be operable by its owner.
Why is this important?
I am a middle school teacher who works in a building with inadequate security. Our state, county, and residents lack the funds to secure the school. Please urge the President, US House, and US Senate to mandate "smart gun" technology.
