Marco Rubio: Stop Playing Politics with Immigration Reform
Now is not the time to play politics with immigration reform. Stop putting the media spotlight before the lives of 11 million people.
Why is this important?
Recently, TIME Magazine called Marco Rubio “The Republican Savior” and said that he is “the key player in his party’s efforts to make up to Hispanic voters.”
But instead of using his newfound political power to pass immigration reform, Rubio is imitating anti-immigrant members of Congress like Jeff Sessions, and is slow-walking the process in order to use the spotlight for his own political ambitions.
Last weekend, Rubio wrote a letter asking the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee to slow down immigration reform--a move that could end up killing the process altogether.
If Senator Rubio is the Republicans’ last hope with immigrant voters, then he needs to do more than play political games with our future.
Tell Senator Rubio that we are onto him. We need a leader who's willing to put our community ahead of his own political agenda.
