We are in a CLIMATE EMERGENCY. Now is not the time to CUT money to plant trees, now is the time to double down and do everything we can to save our planet and make San Francisco sustainable and climate resilient for future generations.
Why is this important?
For nearly 5 decades San Francisco has woefully managed its urban forest and the results are in: we have the worst urban canopy of any major city in the U.S. Yet now, right after SF declared a climate emergency - and climate change is destroying our planet - the city has decided to ELIMINATE money for tree planting from its budget. Actions have consequences. We cannot continue to abuse our planet. We must do everything we can to leave this city and our world sustainable for generations to come.
