Mayor V. Gray & DC Council Member(s), Lower Your Traffic & Parking Fines

"The District of Columbia traffic citations are outrages, they have the highest ticket violation fees in the DC Metro Area, “DC camera tickets are between $125 to $150, MD is $40, I am not stating that we should not pay for our mistakes, but to be robbed by the city, is just plain wrong! To add insult to injury, when you go and fight tickets that have been erroneously issued as to no fault of your own, the City still sides with the ill issued ticket. Further, as a constituent, I want to know what the money being used to do. It cannot be road improvements because DC has some of the worse roads around the Metro Area. Former Mayor Adrian Fenty initiated the increased ticket violation fees, but he is no longer the Mayor, so let’s petition the Mayor and the DC Councilmen demanding fairness in traffic and parking violation fees."

The ticket amnesty program generously offered by current Mayor Gray is simply not enough to ease the already over-burdened purses/pockets of area citizens. DC ticket citation fees have doubled and even tripled in some cases and it simply is not fair to District drivers to be so callously used as a means to fraudulently align the City’s budget.

Why is this important?

The District of Columbia traffic citations are outrages, they have the highest ticket violation fees in the DC Metro Area. Lets fight back, by signing this petition.
