Extend Medicare coverage to disable widow or widower who are under 65
Why is this important?
I have been a home maker for a long time due to poor eyesight. Actually, I am legally blind. Since my husband passed on 2 years ago, I am living in limbo. I am now a 63 years old widow receiving only $1700. from SSA that goes directly from direct deposit to the landlord bank for my rent, nothing left for utilities etc.. I don't have any medical coverage: I am making over the limit for Medicaid ($750) and Social Security says that I have to wait until I am 65 or 66 years old to be elligible for Medicare.
