Michigan Citizens Against Bolger Plan to Cut Education Funding from Gas Tax

Currently, 73% of the gas tax goes to Michigan's School Aid Fund to help fund public schools. Bolger's plan would avoid voter approval and legislatively reallocate all money paid at the pump to go toward road repair with no replacement in funds for public education.

Why is this important?

My children attend public schools and we are about to lose 8 teachers in our district due to state education budget cuts. Our children's education should be our top priority, and this plan needs to be stopped.
