To: The people of Michigan
Michigan needs more clean energy
I pledge to vote yes on Prop 3 for more clean energy in Michigan.
Why is this important?
An opportunity like this doesn’t come along often.
On Election Day, voters will have a chance to take a huge step in the shift from dirty energy to clean, renewable energy.
Proposition 3 would require utilities to get 25% of Michigan’s electricity from renewable sources, like wind and solar, by 2025. Passing Prop 3 would dramatically reduce pollution from coal-fired power plants, which is a leading cause of asthma attacks and lung disease.
Overcoming the influence of our coal-burning utilities to get our state to 25% renewable energy by 2025 isn’t going to be easy. At this point, I’m sure you’ve seen their misleading TV ads and mailings. It’s gotten so bad that Consumers Energy actually stuffed their utility bills with a flyer urging customers to vote no on Prop 3.
The stakes are too high to let them get away with this. Can I count on you to vote YES on Prop 3?
