Amend the Minnesota Constitution to create an independent redistricting commission to re-draw the state's legislative and congressional district lines after every census.
Why is this important?
The gerrymandering of our congressional and legislative districts has led to the creation of "safe" districts for Republican and DFL candidates in Minnesota. This has allowed powerful — sometimes extremist — minorities in both parties to successfully run candidates whose political views are not broadly representative of the districts they intend to represent.
