Minnesota restore absent days...
Restore the Child Care Assistance Program "Absent Day" policy of 25 allowable absences to ensure that child care continuity is maintained for at-risk young children
Why is this important?
My daughter attends daycare. We receive funds from the Minnesota Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). The Minnesota CCAP has decreased the number of absents a child can have before a single mom like myself will be responsible to pay for days absent. The reason we apply for CCAP is because we can’t afford the days present, let alone the days absent. Early Childhood Education should be a priority that ensures that all children have a solid educational foundation without the threat of termination. Children get sick, life happens, and we all need more than 10 days a year to allow that which we have no control over to take place.
