Support bonding and other policies that promote building solar energy, including solar installed on schools, town halls, fire houses and police stations. The possibility is enormous. Minnesota's K-12 public schools alone have the space to generate hundreds of megawatts of energy worth millions of dollars every year, according to analysis done by the Solar Works for Minnesota Coalition.
Why is this important?
Minnesota currently spends more than $20 billion a year importing polluting energy from other states and nations. There is no need for us to be sending all those dollars out of state when Minnesota has a vast, untapped solar resource. In fact, Minnesota ranks in the top ten for solar energy generation potential, and it’s time to take advantage!
