Minnesotans United To Reopen The Triple Rock At The Humphrey Terminal
The West Bank's beloved Triple Rock Social Club is slated to permanently close it's doors this November. We call on the Metropolitan Airports Commission to provide refuge for a new incarnation of the Triple Rock in MSP's Terminal 2, commonly known as the Humphrey Terminal.
Why is this important?
The Humphrey Terminal would provide an excellent permanent location for a punk-rock themed bar, restaurant and music venue. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample the local flavor of the Triple Rock's famous vegan po-boy sandwich, and explore a jukebox full of artists on Minnesota-grown Profane Existance and Havoc record labels. Imagine the joy an energy industry executive connecting from Calgary to Dallas-Ft Worth would experience when they find that "cooks revenge" is actually just freezer-burned tatertot hotdish topped with ranch and maraschino cherries. Think of the magical experience for out-of-town visitors to be introduced to "Minnesota nice" by the the sounds of bands like Assrash and The Murderers.
A new Triple Rock would be a bold addition to the Humphrey Terminal's array of thriving businesses, complimenting current favorites like Hudson News and Caribou Coffee. The proximity to the Blueline LRT stop would help this business attract urban city dwellers looking to jet off on a European tour. After the success of the new, improved CBGB's at Newark International Airport, MSP's second most beloved terminal is primed to expand it's appeal to a younger, punker generation with the new MSP Triple Rock Social Club.
