Require financial institutions such as CitiMortgage to be accountable for their mismanagement of the Home Affordable Modification Program. The process is beyond cumbersome and designed to intimidate people whose houses are "underwater".
Why is this important?
We requested CitiMortgage to modify our mortgage because our home was "underwater". We started the process in October, 2011. We have responded to each request for documents - now totaling 120 pages. The requests for documents continue to February 20, 2012, in which they requested ten additional documents (four of which have already been FAXED previously). Now then entire process has become capricious and arbitrary. We are appealing for your help and the help of the State Attorney General of Minnesota.
