Please support a constitutional amendment that limits the rights of corporations to those defined in their charters (per Thomas Jefferson) and overturns the Supreme Court doctrine that money is speech, most notably and seriously in the Citizens United finding.
Why is this important?
As a nation, we have lot's of problems, and all of them can, at least in theory, be solved. But as long as expended money is treated as protected speech, and corporations are treated as people with constitutional rights, very few of our problems can be solved. The power of big corporations will trump everything else as long as they can spend vast amounts of money campaigns and on (often false) message ads and commercials aimed at influencing legislation and elections.
