Montgomery County, KY Low Cost Spay/Neuter Vouchers

Our local Montgomery County, KY Animal Shelter is a "Kill Shelter", but most animals are rescued by 501c3 rescue groups before they are euthanized. Many people end up with pregnant cats and dogs dumped in the country and are left to try to find homes for the kittens and puppies without putting them in the Shelter. Many cannot afford the cost of spaying and neutering locally and thus the shelter keeps at near capacity, especially during the summer. Rather than providing more staff, building, food and supplies, why not funnel funds into prevention? Caring About Treasured Strays (C.A.T.S.) has transported over 150 cats, kittens and dogs to be spayed/neutered to low cost clinics in other counties in the past couple of months from our community. Wouldn't it be great if vouchers for low cost spay/neuter were available in our own county to help stop the over population of these precious fur babies?

Why is this important?

We with Caring About Treasured Strays daily receive calls, emails, messages in regard to the need for rescuing dumped-off cats and kittens, dogs and puppies. We work LONG hours to care for them and keep them from going to our Montgomery County, KY Animal Shelter, where there is no other option but to euthanize when at capacity or to add on to the building where the animals will live in cages for months on end. We rescued one a few months back that had lived in a cage for 8 months, most of its life. ~~Prevention is better than cure!!~~ Please sign and share and help to save lives!
