Enact legislation that reduces the amount of plastic in packaging. Most plastic packaging could be replaced by biodegradable, renewable paper products, or eliminated with improved package design. Plastic packaging, designed to be discarded, is a monumental waste of money, and a massive drain on our environment.
Why is this important?
Plastic is (usually) a product of petroleum. It clogs our landfills and supports unsavory regimes. Most of our packaging is plastic when it could be biodegradable, renewable paper instead.
