The Mormon Tabernacle Choir represents the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a non-partisan entity, the Church should remain neutral concerning the Presidential Inauguration, during what has been a deeply dividing election. This petition aims to retract the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's acceptance to perform at the 2017 Inauguration Ceremony.
Why is this important?
As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I wish to encourage the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's President and Administrative Director to uphold the Church's non-partisan stance during this heated election year. Regardless of past participation in Presidential Inaugurations, the division in our country over this election will only be magnified among our members and neighbors by the Choir's participation in the Inaugural event.
