My neighborhood is looking like hell because mortgage companies have foreclosed on so many homes and businesses. Education in my town is suffering because the people who used to own homes have lost them and taxes for schools aren't being paid. I think that the mortgage companies that now own these homes should be responsible for paying the taxes and keeping up their properties so that our neighborhoods can at least keep up property values, keep kids in well funded schools. The interest rates alone on a 30 year mortgage for one home are stupendous. These banks can afford to be responsible patriotic "persons".
