MoveOn: Stop supporting Bernie Sander's futile campaign

Bernie Sanders advocates many important and worthy ideas and the Democratic Party has an unprecedented opportunity to put these into effect by retaking the Senate, possibly even the House, as well as the Presidency this November. Mr Sanders, however, by his overly aggressive and divisive campaigning, may jeopardize this opportunity and play into the hands of the Republicans, who are only too eager to find a means to repair their deep disarray. Therefore, while MoveOn should continue to support Bernie’s ideas and proposals, it should no longer support his now futile campaign to secure the Democratic nomination at any cost. We therefore call upon him to use his powerful influence to help shape the democratic platform according to his ideas, but to relinquish his destructive campaign strategy, which can seriously damage the Democratic initiative and play into the hands of Donald Trump and the Republicans.
