Mr. Polis: Gun Safety Education is Essential
While your administration has taken steps to add gun regulations, we continue to be plagued as a state by gun violence. Please implement a gun licensure/education program in this state and require gun owners to be educated about the risks and responsibilities of owning a gun in this state.
Why is this important?
Mr. Governor, while you and Congress have passed a red flag gun law, I am afraid this law isn't enough to address needless shootings such as the STEM school shooting. I am outraged this shooting happened because it need not happen and innocent people were injured. My sister and I (both students here in Colorado) have many friends who are afraid to go to school because of the rampant gun violence that keeps gripping our classrooms. Your administration has done great things and I am hopeful you can develop a gun safety education program as a resource for people in our state who own guns/have been impacted by gun violence.
