Nassau County: Prevent sewage spillage in LI Sound
Our neighborhood has had ongoing sewer problems because we are downhill from an old, small pumping station on Dana's Highway.
The Glen Cove Mansion, currently a hotel, was granted approval to build 40 large homes and discharge the sewage downhill to the same Dana's Hwy pumping station. This is likely to cause this sewage pumping station to fail, affecting the 150 homes located downhill on East Island. In addition, it could lead to the discharge of sewage in Dosoris Pond (connected to LI Sound) - an environmental disaster.
We urge Nassau County executives to deny the connection of this new development to the current, old sewage infrastructure.

Why is this important?
All residents of East Island will be directly impacted by a sewage pump failure.
