National Council of Eritrean-Americans in New England and Ethiopian Community in Boston
We the undersigned members of the Ethiopian and Eritrean community in New England would like to bring to your attention our concern for distorted and fabricated facts about the current situation in Ethiopia and Eritrea. We, the Ethiopians and Eritreans, have called for a peaceful demonstration on March 30th in Boston to expose the lies of Tigrean people liberation front (TPLF) and to condemn the horrendous massacre of 1300 innocent civilians in Mai-kadra in November of 2020 which is one example of the countless ethnicity based atrocities committed by the TPLF. We, Ethiopians and Eritreans are also united in the fight to expose the historic complicity of some nations in the West, their subservient NGOs and biased mainstream media in the cover up and denial of TPLF’s crimes against humanity. On the contrary, the West should accept the irreversibility of the new objective and subjective conditions and respect their genuine aspiration for a sustainable partnership in economic growth and social justice.
Why is this important?
We humbly urge you to seek factual, objective and verifiable evidence before you formulate an opinion about the military, political and humanitarian situation in those two countries. The document attached to this petition describes the chronology of events that resulted in the Ethiopian Federal Government’s decision to restore order and the rule of law in the restive Ethiopian region of Tigray and respond to the acts of sedition perpetrated by the leaders of the TPLF. We encourage you to contact the appropriate government officials in Ethiopia and Eritrea and obtain reports produced by unbiased international organizations to confirm these facts.
