Why is this important?
The time has come and is in fact long past due for the Congress of the United States of America to set aside partisan bickering, partisan brinkmanship, and partisan animosities and to clearly demonstrate to the American people that Congress can work together, can get things done. The time has come, and without further delay, to establish a national holiday celebrating American Athletics, and what better day than the day following the most American of sporting events... The Super Bowl?
Celebration of all sports, all ages...from Coach pitch to the World Series, from PeeWee football to the Super Bowl, from the Soap Box Derby to the Daytona 500, from Cornhole to the PGA. From grade school championships and participation to the Olympic games and professional championships. The time has come for Congress to step up, to do the right thing, to show the world that yes, we can get things done.
The need is great, the purpose noble, and the time is now...for a national holiday celebrating American Athletics!
