Incarcerated individuals should not suffer from the termination of their Medicaid benefits upon entering the prison system. Our group and allies propose a suspension of Medicaid benefits rather than the termination of this lifesaving aid.
Why is this important?
Currently not all of the states in our great union use the suspension policy, and we would like to push for this policy to be adopted on a federal level, preserving the welfare of all citizens. Medicaid benefits provide necessary relief that impacts people of all walks of life that are in dire need of this attention.
