Nebraska superdelegates: Support the will of the voters at the Democratic party convention!

Let the voters decide. Pledge to support the candidate who gets the most pledged delegate votes at the Democratic National Convention.

Why is this important?

This year's race for the Democratic presidential nomination is closer than ever. So close, in fact, that the nomination could be decided by a few individuals whose "superdelegate" vote is disproportionately influential compared to the average citizen's.

There are 712 superdelegates total (five of whom are from Nebraska), compared with 4,051 voter-elected delegates. To get a sense of the disproportionate power of a superdelegate, think of it this way: These 712 individual superdelegates get 712 convention votes (thus one convention vote per person). By contrast, 712 regular citizens have the equivalent of about 0.08 convention votes (giving one voter less than 1/1000 of the power of a superdelegate). In a nation where every citizen is supposed to have an equal say in the election process, this seems to go completely against how elections are meant to be run.

Superdelegates, with great power comes great responsibility. Please don't abuse this power to swing the vote away from the people's choice. Pledge to support the candidate who gets the most pledged delegate votes, no matter who that may be.
