I encourage the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada to grandfather original solar customers under the rates they agreed to!
Why is this important?
In December, 2015, the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada came between 32,000 rooftop solar customers and their contracts with their power provider, and impacted economically favorable power rates that had previously been agreed upon. These solar customers invested in personal solar energy systems, acting in good faith based upon promises from the state. These promises were changed and undermined much to the detriment of the utility's customers.
Through NV Energy's recent advice filing, the PUC now has the opportunity to remedy their decision that has devalued the investments made by tens of thousands of Nevada solar customers.
