Never Attack a Child’s Decisiveness

Considering that childhood is an ideal time for making life choices with unrestrained childlike enthusiasm, schools ought to offer young students not less than one academic choice prior to the high school level.
Such choices might include, but not be limited to, one or more of at least a short list (~4 or 5) foreign languages.

Why is this important?

Regarding the much debated issue of school choice, it's the children who should have a say in such choices. When the said choice is whether or not a child is to be sent to a private charter school, the charter school in question should offer all of the choices that the public school alternative would offer. Also, considering that chidren gain appreciation of various peers, they should not be denied the opportunity to make educational choices based on their appreciation of their peers. To allow the child to make his or her own choices is not to live his or her life for him or her.
