We as a community do not see the need or want for a name change and request that our community school remains Avalon High School.
Why is this important?
As a community with such a deep history, we do not see the purpose to take part of our identity from us for the benefit of a few. With many Alumni who still have a deep connection to Avalon High School, this change will only have a negative effect for the community, and Alumni are proud of the efforts this school does for the community and by doing such a drastic change you affect the community you chose to remove and distance yourself from. Together we are AVALON HIGH; together we are WILMINGTON.
