No budget--no salary for Congress

When Congress fails to pass a budget and it results in a government shutdown, then Congress should not receive any pay until they can successfully pass a budget.

Why is this important?

This shutdown affects all of us, either directly or indirectly. Having 800,000 people without a paycheck will have adverse effects on the economy, both individually and collectively.

Federal employees have had their pay frozen for the past three years. This is the second furlough that they have been forced to endure due to the inability of Congress to get their job done.

This is not only a financial issue, but a moral issue as well. It's a matter of loss of pride in our leadership, and a greater loss of trust as well.
