No cuts to Medicaid, SNAP and other benefits NY’ers depend on

As your constituents, we are signing the petition to express our disappointment and frustration at your vote for the budget resolution that will slash billions of dollars in funding for Medicaid/Medicare and food assistance that members of our community rely on. Our community requests that Nicole Malliotakis attend a townhall meeting in which she pledges to oppose any further action that would:
• Force people who are eligible for Medicaid/Medicare and SNAP to lose or reduce benefits leaving them sick and hungry.
• Require state and local governments to make up for the loss of federal funding.
The hardworking people of New York’s 11th Congressional District deserve to know that our representative is committed to our neighbors and not to billionaires demanding budget cuts.

Why is this important?
Recess is a time for members of Congress to return to their home states. They should be using this week to meet with their constituents, give space for their concerns, and take that back to D.C.
Instead, House Republican leaders are now reportedly telling their offices to avoid holding public events when they are home for March recess. This is the opposite of the directions Democrats are receiving—with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries encouraging all members to connect directly with constituents to talk about the Republican-backed attacks on key services like Social Security and Medicaid embodied by Elon Musk's actions and the Republican budget.

Nicole Malliotakes was elected to represent us—she should not be hiding from their constituents. Period.
