As part of the Debt Ceiling debate last month, a Congressional “Super Committee” was charged with finding $1.2 trillion in budget savings over the next ten years. If they don’t, automatic cuts—including over $170 Billion in Medicare cuts—will go into effect.
As this Super Committee begins its work on proposals to lower the American debt. We, the undersigned, have serious concerns. We know that there is no crisis in Medicare funding. We can and must strengthen Medicare . . . not dramatically cut it. Any proposal to lower the debt must not increase the Medicare eligibility age and must not cut Medicare!
Why is this important?
