No Ego Monuments On Taxpayer's Dime

Stop the practice of elected officials using tax dollars to erect a false legacy of their achievement via plaques, monuments, etc. in private and public arenas. It must be made illegal for elected officials to gift an institution with tax dollars as if they are making a personal donation.

Why is this important?

This petition is about a long standing practice of elected officials having monuments, statues, citations, plaques, etc. delivered in their names because they provided tax payer funds to some institution. "Slush funds" or "Pork Barrel" dispersements to non-profits, education, etc. should be credited to tax payers not their representatives (unless those elected officials can demonstrate that all such funds come from their private bank accounts).
