no mbta fare hikes/dervice cuts

The MBTA knew costs were rising, that they had an aging fleet; but they wait till it's a near crisis before informing the public. We have our own crisis. They need to go back to the drawing Board + find another way. Getting 25% fare hikes from the public that has a high unemployment rate, pays a much higher share towards their health costs, has had their cost of living increase but seniors + disabled people got no COLA for 2 years while they had 3.5% COLAS is not right, they need a new plan. One that doesn't get hikes off our backs

Why is this important?

The MBTA wants to raise fares. It's been a time of record unemployment, people have been forced out of homes, many have gone bankrupt. Few outside the MBTA Union workers have received 3.5% cost of living increases and pay little toward their health insurance + minor co-pays for health services. The MBTA Board has to go back to the drawing Board for a better solution. Getting more off the backs of seniors + disabled peopkle isn't right.
