No More Bullets
There are tens of millions of handguns, semi-automatic and automatic weapons in this country, and no practical way to confiscate them. So forget collecting the guns. Instead, let's get the bullets. There's only a finite number of them. Make it illegal to sell bullets to the public, except those for hunting and sporting single-shot rifles. The military and police would obtain ammunition through federal or state-operated agencies.
Why is this important?
To President Obama, who has run his last election and has no excuse for not doing the right thing, and to every U.S. Senator and Congressperson who lacks the courage to stand up to the NRA: It's not just the mass murders the occur with disturbing frequency. It's the unending day-to-day shootings that blight every city. The time for tolerating your inaction is over.
