Members of Congress should be held accountable for their role in Michael Brown's and Eric Garner's deaths. Congress's shameful, public display of disrespect for President Obama has, by example, made it acceptable for all public officials to practice overt racism without consequence. If it's OK for Congress to demean and undermine the Obama presidency, where's the shame in other public servants racially profiling and even killing ordinary citizens? We need to force Congress to acknowledge and cease this hateful behavior.
Why is this important?
As a US citizen I cannot just sit back and watch racism build back up into violence. Racism is learned, and Congress is teaching by example. They have set the tone for racial unrest and violence by demeaning President Obama because he is black. This is unacceptable and must stop.
