To: President Donald Trump, The United States House of Representatives, and The United States Senate
No National ID-Stop The Immigration Modernization Act
Let's put the intention of this bill aside and politics left or right.
No National ID Petition
My U.S. Representative and Senators
Whereas: Privacy from government is a chief cornerstone of our liberties, enshrined in the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution; and
Whereas: In the past, many Members of Congress, instead of taking steps to end illegal immigration, have chosen instead to use the issue to dramatically expand government intrusion into our lives; and
Whereas: The so-called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" proposal being touted by Senators Chuck Schumer and John McCain includes a de facto National ID system that would be required for all U.S. citizens in order to hold a job legally; and
Whereas: A National Database with biometric information would also be created, allowing government bureaucrats to track an American’s every move.
Therefore: I urge you to oppose any legislation requiring U.S. citizens to obtain a National ID card just to get a job - or any other bill that would establish a National ID card that includes biometric scanning or tracking devices.

Why is this important?
This is a massive violation of American rights and Liberties. Regardless of where you sit in the political spectrum both sides have massively abused power from 9/11 to the recent IRS scandal. If we give the government the ability to to track our every move in the name of immigration can we trust that they won't target people and track people for political reasons? Even if this was run on the up and up it will cause massive TSA experiences from applying job to getting medicine. The cost of freedom is too high. Just say no.
